Dreaming of the Caribbean Sun…

It has been over 2 months since we returned from our fabulous honeymoon.  It was such an amazing time, what a honeymoon should be.  We were treated like a king & queen in both Anguilla and St. Barth’s.   Anguilla was a very wonderful, quiet, low key island with great food. But the accommodations in St. Barth’s was untouchable, hands down. We stayed at the amazing Guanahani Hotel.  Once we arrived at the airport, we were greeted by a wonderful guy who took our luggage, gave us hot towels and cold water….mmm…   We then checked into our own little “bungalow”.

I’d love to style our living room (or the room between the kitchen and garage) like this one below.  White couches, white walls and bits of color.  But I don’t think akaraff is going to go for the white couches.  he may change his mind ;)

The week was followed by a lot of sunning, frozen cocktails and fabulous food.   We spent the majority of our time here:

We had a deck just like this, and the bonus was our own resident cat “bella”.   She looked extremely pregnant, but took very good care of us.

Indian Springs - Calistoga, CA

Pool @ Indian Springs

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for our upcoming vacation to Northern Cali.  (5 weeks and counting…).  I was a bit discouraged when I started planning the Napa portion.  I thoroughly immersed myself in the region of “Napa Valley”. What do you mean I can’t see all 400 wineries in one day?  So after scanning my frequented travel sites, tripadvisor, kayak & orbitz, I had found an “just okay” place that would do in Yountville and uber expensive.  And then I found what appears to be a magically place.  Thanks to sfbythebaygirl for bringing it to my attention.  She wrote a great post about vintage bathing suits and this place.

Indian Springs in Calistoga is the most ideal place for us.  I’m into wine, but the raff-man is not so much. So what a great way to break up on the wineries.  Geyser waters, mud baths, and shuffleboard…. oh my….

We reserved one of these for 2 nights.

This is my ideal Napa….

i’m tired, i’m wet from the rain, i’m cranky, i’m sun-deprived and this picture is where i want to be at this exact moment. i wish i was lying in this hammock, reading a good book with my raff-man getting us some coronas. the next best thing for this new england winter girl is a little hot yoga. 7:30 class will be good to help my cold bones. now where is the sun?
